Power supplies have now been restored to every household in Jersey after Storm Goretti caused widespread disruption, although full repairs to the electricity network are expected to take several months.
The island was placed under a major incident declaration by the States of Jersey on Thursday as severe weather swept through, blocking roads and bringing down 86 trees.
Jersey Electricity confirmed that around 400 customers experienced outages during the storm. The company said power has since been fully reinstated and all affected lines have been secured, but longer-term repair work remains ongoing.
A spokesperson for the utility said engineers will continue carrying out permanent repairs, inspecting lines, and completing clean-up operations over the coming months.
If you’d like, I can make this shorter, more formal, or adjust it to match a specific outlet’s house style.
