A major Jersey hospitality group behind some of the island’s best-known eateries has been acquired by a Guernsey-based investor.
JPRestaurants, which operates Banjo, the Oyster Box and the Crab Shack, has been bought by CI Hospitality Limited. The deal is intended to secure the long-term future of the locally established brands.

CI Hospitality Limited has been expanding its presence in the Channel Islands hospitality sector and last year acquired Randalls Guernsey, including its brewery and a portfolio of pubs and restaurants.
JPRestaurants said the new ownership will bring additional investment into the business, with funding earmarked to support the group while preserving the individual identity, heritage and character of each venue.
Managing Director Robert Jones will continue in his role and remain the only other shareholder in the company.
He said the investment would allow the group to respond to changes in Jersey’s competitive restaurant market while staying true to what customers expect.
“Our focus remains on delivering the experiences our customers value most,” he said. “Much of what people know and love about our restaurants will stay the same, including our teams, our locations and our approach to hospitality.”
The company confirmed that all restaurants will continue trading as normal during the transition, with no changes expected to day-to-day operations or service standards.
